| Twenty years ago it was unthinkable to most of us that we would have any computer sitting on our desktop. Ten years ago it was unthinkable to most of us that we would have such a powerful computer sitting on our desktop. Technology changes…rapidly. Today, companies are developing and offering a variety of methods to perform automated particle size analysis. Some of these methods include mechanical shakers, video/image analysis, and laser analysis. Although these technologies are not widely used in the aggregates industry today, we believe they will be down the road. Issues that limit the use of this technology for in-line process control today, such as wet aggregate, will be solved and become more economical. |
| Stonemont Solutions is proud to announce the release of a beta-program that interfaces aggQC with the video imaging particle analyzers offered by J.M. Canty, Inc. Rinker Materials currently uses aggQC and a particle analyzer from J.M. Canty at their 12 Million-Tons/Year FEC Quarry in Miami, Florida. Previously, output from the particle analyzer had to be entered manually into aggQC for analysis. Now, the aggQC Particle Analyzer program works in conjunction with the J.M. Canty software to automatically enter samples in real-time into aggQC. Other features of the program include |
- aggQC Alerts, which are text-based gradation reports that are automatically emailed to specified recipients if a sample fails the product specification and,
- Ability to calibrate visual gradation results to manual gradation results, and
- Automatic updating of run charts for user-specified critical products and critical sieves.

| Are you tired of using manual solutions to hit and miss on blending material? Common solutions implemented in spreadsheets require the user to manually adjust percentages for each component material until the desired blend is achieved. This technique is manually intensive…and is it optimal? |
| Stonemont Solutions developed a blending application that is integrated with aggQC. This integration begins by allowing users to query the aggQC database for the latest percent passing averages for a specified blend component or fraction. Then a user can enter specifications for each sieve or select a specification from the aggQC Database. Enter the price for each fraction and press the minimize button…and presto you have a blend for the minimum cost that meets the desired specification. Parameters other than cost, such as bin level, may be used as required.
