Importing Tonnage Data

StonemontQC provides the ability to hand-enter tonnage data for individual products or plants.  However, that is a time consuming process.  A better approach is to import that data, not only for a single product but all products at multiple plants.  We provide that capability via two mechanisms; manual import using a simple spreadsheet; automated import using database tables (Enterprise or Hosted Editions).  The spreadsheet and database table require similar information:

Plant ID – The unique ID assigned to the plant in company setup

Product ID – The unique product ID assigned to the product in division setup

Date – The date the product was produced or shipped

Shipped – The tons shipped

Produced – The tons produced

When using the various import capabilities within StonemontQC, it is very important that you are using unique IDs for Divisions, Regions, Plants, and Products.  This includes unique Products IDs for all aggregate, asphalt, and concrete products with no overlap.  This is necessary since the import uses these IDs to find the appropriate plant and product when importing tonnage results.

The spreadsheet used to import tonnage data can be obtained directly from Stonemont.  Typically, production and shipping tonnage data can be obtained in a similar format from ticketing or ERP software.  To import tonnage results manually using the spreadsheet, select the Database tab on the ribbon (Figure 1), and then select product tonnage.  We also provide a plant tonnage option as well that only imports total tonnages for plants.  You can reimport historical tonnage data to update existing entries in StonemontQC.  To import tonnage results automatically using the database tables requires that special “link” tables in the StonemontQC database be populated with tonnage data.  These tables are checked daily and if data exists then it is automatically imported.
